The first ODI (One Day International) match was played between Australia and England on 5 January 1971 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Indian team played its first ODI in 1974. And now this team has played the most total of 987 ODIs. After this, Australia has played 949 matches.

From the Indian ODI team, a total of 229 players have made a place in the team so far. Navdeep Saini is the latest player to play ODI matches for India. He made his West Indies debut in December 2019 and took 2 wickets in the first match.

Jasprit Bumrah is the second fastest 100 wicket-taker for India. He achieved this feat in 57 innings. While his teammate Mohammed Shami has achieved the distinction of being the fastest Indian to take 100 wickets in just 56 innings.

Other Indians who have taken the fastest 100 wickets in ODIs; Zaheer Khan (65), Ajit Agarkar (67) and Javagal Srinath (68).
